Ellen Pompeo's Secret Wedding

Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo, aka Dr. Meredith Grey, and Boston-bred music exec Chris Ivery quietly got married on Friday at New York’s City Hall, according to The Boston Globe.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg even served as their witness!

The Globe says, “The couple got engaged a year ago while celebrating the actress’s birthday. Pompeo, an Everett native, repeatedly professed that she and Ivery wouldn’t go for the usual Hollywood hoopla, preferring a quiet wedding instead. And low-key it was. We’re told a city clerk performed the minutes-long ceremony with only Bloomberg, a Medford native, and First Deputy Mayor Patti Harris accompanying the couple. “They are over the moon,” Pompeo‘s spokesgal Jennifer Allen told us yesterday. The newlyweds were spotted courtside at the Knicks game Sunday night at Madison Square Garden (sitting next to John Mayer and Minka Kelly). Pompeo was back in Hollywood yesterday filming Grey’s, which is expected to shut down soon because of the writers’ strike.”
