Portia de Rossi is taking wife Ellen DeGeneres‘ last name!

The 37-year-old actress filed a petition in L.A. County Superior Court last week asking to legally change her name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres.

According to TMZ, Portia‘s paperwork notes that the reason for the petition is that she’d like to take her spouse’s name.

Portia and Ellen tied the knot back in August of 2008.
