Drew Barrymore Goes the Distance in London

Drew Barrymore attends the world premiere of her new romantic comedy, Going The Distance, held at London’s Vue Leicester Square on Thursday (August 19).

The 35-year-old actress is set to play a mammal-loving Greenpeace activist in her upcoming movie, Whales, aka Everybody Loves Whales.

“I’m going to do that this fall in Alaska,” Drew told MTV of the film, which is based on the 1989 book, “Freeing the Whales: How the Media Created the World’s Greatest Non-Event.”

Will this film be anything like The Cove? “No, it’s a true story that happened in the ’80s,” she said. “It’s a really really amazing story and I’m really excited about going to do it.”
