Prince William & Kate: Tree Planting Ceremony!

Prince William and wife Kate attend a tree planting ceremony on Saturday (July 2) at Rideau Hall in Ottawa, Canada.

The 29-year-old Duke of Cambridge shoveled dirt on the Eastern Hemlock tree before handing the special silver spade to Kate, also 29, who scooped some more loads of soil.

The couple then walked to a nearby tree, which had been planted by William‘s parents in 1983, and stood for several quiet moments to commemorate what would have been his mother Princess Diana‘s 50th birthday.

Kate, wearing a grey Catherine Walker dress and Tabitha Simmons heels, and William then headed to the Canadian War Museum where they greeted nearly 1,500 spectators and toured some of the collections.
