Is James Van Der Beek 'Allowed' to See Katie Holmes?

The 33-year-old actress’s Dawson’s Creek co-star, James Van Der Beek, was recently asked a bizarre question while he was promoting his new show Apartment 23: “Are you allowed to see Katie Holmes?”

James laughed and shrugged in response but did answer whether he keeps in touch with the show’s cast.

“It’s like somebody you went to high school with. As the years go on, it gets longer and longer but you always have that shared experience,” he said during the TCA press tour (via E! Online).
