Kim Kardashian Was In the Delivery Room When Third Child Was Born Via Surrogate (Report)

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their third child – a baby girl – in the early morning hours of Monday (January 15), and more details are emerging about the birth, which took place at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old reality star was in the room with her surrogate, who carried the child, while she gave birth, TMZ reports. Kim was with the surrogate while she was in labor and she was the first person to have skin-to-skin contact with the newborn when she arrived. Kanye, Kris Jenner, and Kim‘s sisters were also there, according to the publication, but not in the delivery room. There were no complications during the birth.

The surrogate was apparently allowed to have some contact with the baby but the baby was immediately put in the care of the Kardashian-West family.

In the statement announcing the birth, Kim and Kanye said, “We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care.”
