Jussie Smollett May Be Suspended From 'Empire' Following Felony Charge

Fox is considering suspending Jussie Smollett from the hit series Empire, Variety confirmed on Wednesday night (February 20).

The 36-year-old actor was charged with filing a false police report by Chicago police earlier in the day.

Also earlier in the day, prior to the felony charge, the network stood by Jussie in a statement.

“Jussie Smollett continues to be a consummate professional on set and as we have previously stated, he is not being written out of the show,” a rep said.

Now, however, producers are “weighing whether to suspend the actor following his indictment.”

If you don’t know, police allegedly believe Jussie paid two brothers to stage an attack on him earlier in February, which is being investigated. Jussie became classified as a suspect on Wednesday (February 20) before the indictment.
