'Step Up' TV Series Saved by Starz After Being Canceled by YouTube

The Step Up television series is getting a third season!

Starz has picked up the upcoming season of the show after it was canceled by YouTube following two seasons on the streamer. YouTube made the decision to stop producing scripted originals.

A premiere date has not yet been set for the third season of Step Up, but fans will be able to watch the first two seasons on Starz ahead of the premiere.

“The latest installment of Step Up not only reimagines the entire franchise but is filled with high energy, lots of heart and electrifying dance moves, and we’re very excited to reunite the talented cast and creative teams for another great season,” Lionsgate Television Group chairman Kevin Beggs said Thursday in a statement (via THR). “This collaboration underscores our ability to work successfully across our businesses to supply premium content to Starz.”

The show was originally titled Step Up: High Water, but it will now be known as just Step Up. The full cast and creative team is confirmed to return!

Naya Rivera and Ne-Yo starred in the first two seasons alongside newcomers like Petrice Jones and Jade Chynoweth. Tricia Helfer will be joining the cast for season three.
