Johnny Depp Denies Hitting Ex Amber Heard Amid Libel Case

Johnny Depp is denying that he hit his ex-wife, Amber Heard, in a jealous rage.

The 57-year-old actor was cross-examined on Wednesday (July 8) by a lawyer for The Sun amid Johnny‘s libel case in a courtroom in London, United Kingdom.

If you didn’t know, Johnny is suing the publication’s publisher and executive editor Dan Wootton for calling him a “wife beater.”

The case started on Tuesday (July 7), with Johnny in the witness box, and he denied Amber‘s allegations of physical assault on multiple occasions.

The Sun’s defense is tied to Amber’s allegations of 14 incidents of violence by Depp between 2013 and 2016. He denies them all and says she attacked him with various items, and severed his finger by throwing a vodka bottle at him.

“I did not hit Ms. Heard and furthermore I have never hit Ms. Heard,” he said, via ET Canada.

He also denied hitting her after she allegedly laughed at his tattoo.

“I don’t recall any argument about any of my tattoos,” he said.

He acknowledged taking both prescription and illegal substances since childhood, but denied the claim that he became a “monster” when he drank and took drugs.

“I was angry, but that doesn’t mean I have an anger problem. I also express myself by laughing. I don’t have a humor problem,” he told the court.
