Debra Messing Questions Why Kim Kardashian Gets to Host 'Saturday Night Live'

Debra Messing is a little confused as to why Kim Kardashian is hosting Saturday Night Live.

On Wednesday (September 22), the long-running NBC sketch show announced that the 40-year-old reality star and makeup mogul will be hosting the second episode of season 47 in October.

After the announcement was made, the 53-year-old Will & Grace alum took to social media to question SNL‘s decision to book Kim to host the show.

“Why Kim Kardashian? I mean, I know she is a cultural icon, but SNL has hosts, generally, who are performers who are there to promote a film, TV show, or album launch. Am I missing something?” Debra tweeted.

As of right now, it’s unclear if Kim will be promoting anything during her SNL appearance.

Late last year after announcing the end of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim and her family revealed that they signed a multi-year deal with Hulu to produce new content that launch exclusively on the streaming service.

So maybe Kim will be providing a Hulu update on SNL? We’ll just have to wait and see when she hosts the show on Saturday, October 9th!
