Eric Braeden Calls Out Eva Longoria's Comments About Her Early 'Young & Restless' Days

Eva Longoria‘s comments about her early daytime drama days didn’t sit well with veteran Eric Braeden.

If you don’t know, the 48-year-old actress starred as Isabella on The Young and the Restless from 2001 to 2003, before she shot to stardom on Desperate Housewives.

In a recent interview, Eva was asked about her role on the soap opera, where she opened up about how little she was actually paid for the part.

During the segment with journalist Chris Wallace, Eva explained that the role “didn’t pay enough for me to live off being an actor. So I continued being a headhunter and Young and the Restless.”

She went on, saying that she’d actually “hide the fact I was on Young and the Restless to my clients, because they didn’t want, like, a dumb actress handing their accounts.”

“One time one of my clients was like, ‘You look like a girl I’ve seen on a soap opera.’ And I go, ‘No, I don’t know who that is,’” she stated. “I was like the opposite of a publicist’s dream. I was like, ‘Don’t tell anybody I’m on that show’ because I was still making more money on my day job.”

After hearing her comments about the soap and the embarrassment she did have at the time, Eric Braeden, who has starred as Victor on the soap since the 1980s, didn’t hold back in calling her out.

In a series of tweets, Eric defended those who have made soaps their lifelong career.

“Eva Longoria, you just made derogatory remarks about daytime actors! You simply weren’t good enough to survive the pressures of this medium! You were very lucky to get on that ‘housewife’ show!” he wrote.

He added, “You did one in 8-12 days, with mediocre but salacious dialogue! Our actresses would run rings around you!! And they did then!! From Robert De Niro to whoever they all are, many of them started in the medium you denigrate! It shows a complete lack of class!!”

Eric defended his stance once more after being called out for his reaction.
