Private Practice star Kate Walsh‘s movie exec husband Alex Young has filed for divorce from the actress, reports ET.

The date of separation is listed as November 22, 2008, just before the Thanksgiving holiday. According to the filing papers, Alex cited irreconcilable differences.

Kate and Alex married in September of 2007.

Something crazy must have happened between November 9 and 29 as the couple looked quite happy together in Las Vegas!

UPDATE: Kate‘s reps tells JustJared.com, “Papers have been filed to amicably end the marriage of executive Alex Young, and actress Kate Walsh. The couple remain on friendly terms and sincerely hope the media will respect their privacy during this difficult time.”

The 40-year-old Private Practice star was attending the inaugural The Lexus Style Villa Sports Power of h Gala, which merges golf and entertainment worlds with sustainable living. (The lowercase “h” is used by Lexus to denote its hybrid fuel vehicles.) The entertainment event celebrated the brand’s hybrid philosophy.

Kate Walsh waltzes through the Mayfair Market in Hollywood whistling and getting her groove on with movie exec husband Alex Young in the parking lot on Sunday.

Kate has recently been spending time on the campaign trail, supporting Barack Obama. Last week she stopped by the Texas A&M University’s Memorial Student Center and greeted students with a friendly “howdy”!

“This is one of the most exciting times in political history,” Kate said. “I’ve never experienced anything like this in a primary.”

Kate said this is the first presidential candidate who has inspired her to speak to others – “I’ve felt disenfranchised in past elections, this is the first time I felt like I could make a difference.”
