Superhero films are frequently box office smash hits.

The high budget, high action films, largely based on comic books from companies like Marvel and DC Comics, regularly break ticket sales records, and are enjoyed by audiences all across the world.

Along the way, there have been plenty of almost-was superhero films, from highly anticipated sequels to unexpected takes on the genre from different directors. For various reasons, be it finances or creative differences, they never ended up coming to light.

Considering the news of Batgirl getting canceled at Warner Bros., we’re taking a look at some other projects that also aren’t making their debut in theaters anymore.

The stars of NCIS: Los Angeles are celebrating the end of the long-running show!

Original stars LL Cool J, Chris O’Donnell, and Daniela Ruah hit the red carpet with co-stars Eric Christian Olsen, Gerald McRaney, Medalion Rahimi and Caleb Castille for the official wrap party at Paramount Studios on Friday (March 3) in Los Angeles.

It was announced in January that the series would be ending after 14 seasons at CBS, and most of the cast are celebrating the show instead of mourning it.

Speaking with ET recently, LL Cool J opened up about saying goodbye to Sam Hanna.

He shared that the one thing he’ll miss the most is “the way he thinks. They [NCIS agents] have to think strategically. His understanding of military strategy, all of those things, you can’t help but learn it because you’re in it every day. How they approach life. The difference between strategy tactics and operations — all of that helps, but just the humanity, that for me it was just… It’s just a dope character.”

“He’s a very strong, solid character,” LL Cool J added. “I mean, it’s 322 episodes. Pretty good. Not bad. Not bad for a kid from Queens.”

But, is Sam still alive when the show ends?

“No, no. He’s still alive, unless the script says otherwise,” he assures fans. “Sam Hanna is still out here and ready to pull his gun out and preserve democracy.”

The final episode of NCIS: Los Angeles will will air on May 14.

All the NCIS stars were out in full force for the PaleyFest LA!

The Salute to NCIS event took place on Sunday (April 10) and brought together the full casts of NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: Hawai’i for the first time since the announcement that all three shows will be returning for additional seasons.

Wilmer Valderrama, Gary Cole, Diona Reasonover, Sean Murray, Katrina Law, Brian Dietzen, and Rocky Carroll were joined by NCIS: Los Angeles stars Chris O’Donnell, Daniela Ruah, LL Cool J, Eric Christian Olsen, Gerald McRaney, Medalion Rahimi, and Caleb Castille.

NCIS: Hawai’i stars Vanessa Lachey, Alex Tarrant, Noah Mills, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Kian Talan, and Tori Anderson also made the trip in from the island state for the event.

The full cast meet up also comes just after the first crossover between NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i aired at the end of last month.

Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J are branching out from their NCIS: Los Angeles roles and teaming up on a brand new television series.

The two actors and longtime pals are reportedly working together on a dance show!

Called Come Dance With Me, the series is a family dance competition show that the two will executive produce on CBS.

In the series, exceptionally talented young dancers from across the country will invite one inspirational — and untrained — family member (or other adult) who has supported their dance dreams to become their dance partner for a chance to strut their stuff for a grand prize.

Each week, the kids will share their love of dance with their mother, father, grandparent or other hero “on an uplifting and emotional journey to learn and perform challenging routines, with the assistance of professional choreographers, in a competition with other duos.”

The two shared in a statement about the show, “We believe this concept is fun for the whole family, especially given the number of children we both have.”

Chris and LL Cool J added, “We reminisced about our kids’ dance lessons and how it would look if they had to teach us how to dance. What we noticed was, aside from the two-left-feet element, like most parents no one wants to let their kids down. The show is about being creative, having a good time and bringing families together through dance. It’s a fun show with a big heart!”

Luke Wilson and Chris O’Donnell hit the links with some friends for a round of golf last week at Bel Air Country Club in Bel Air, Calif.

The guys were joined for the game by two sports legends – former tennis player Pete Sampras and sportscaster Al Michaels.

Luke, 48, and Chris, 49, have been friends for years and they both gained fame for their movie career in the 1990s.

One of Luke‘s most beloved movies is Legally Blonde and he recently opened up about where he thinks his character Emmett and the lead character Elle Woods would be today.

Chris has been starring on the CBS series NCIS: Los Angeles since 2009 and it remains one of the most popular shows on television.

Stephen Amell, the star of The CW’s Arrow, had an amusing interaction with a very confused bartender.

The 37-year-old actor relayed the conversation he had on his Twitter account for his followers to enjoy.

First, the bartender asked Stephen if he was actor Chris O’Donnell. When he said “no,” the bartender responded, “I love his show!…He’s awesome as the Green Arrow.”

Of course, Stephen stars on Arrow and Chris actually stars in the television show NCIS: Los Angeles on CBS.

Jennifer Aniston wears what appears to be a wrist brace to Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk‘s black tie event on Saturday (April 14) in Los Angeles.

Also seen arriving to the event were Reese Witherspoon with husband Jim Toth, Chelsea Handler, Rashida Jones, Rob Lowe with with Sheryl Berkoff, director Jon Favreau, Lake Bell with husband Scott Campbell, actor Chris O’Donnell, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer, and more.

Rumors have been swirling that the event last night was actually Gwyneth and Brad‘s rehearsal dinner or engagement dinner!

If you don’t know, Jennifer and Reese are co-starring in a new show about two morning show hosts! The show was picked up by Apple with a straight-to-series, two-season order for 20 episodes total.
