USA Network and Syfy are teaming up to bring the iconic movie villain from the Child’s Play series to the small screen.

Jennifer Tilly is confirmed to reprise her role as Tiffany Valentine from the movies and Devon Sawa has joined the cast in an unspecified role. They will both be recurring stars on the series, according to Deadline.

Four teen leads have also been announced: Transparent‘s Zackary Arthur, Ratched‘s Teo Briones, Daybreak‘s Alyvia Alyn Lind, and The Seventh Day‘s Björgvin Arnarson.

In the television series, “after a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.”

Don Mancini, the creator of the Child’s Play franchise, is also creating the TV series and will serve as showrunner and executive producer.

Devon Sawa Gives Christina Ricci Credit For Launching His Career

Devon Sawa is giving a lot of thanks to Christina Ricci for helping to launch his career in show business.

During a live tweet event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Casper, in which he played the ghost come to live, Devon says it was Christina who recommended him for the role in the first place.

“Christina Ricci is a HUGE talent and played a big part in me getting the role and then went on to recommend me for Now And Then. I owe her the world. #casper,” he shared on Twitter.

Devon also gave a big shoutout to Malachi Pearson, who voiced the ghostly Casper for much of the movie.

“I was in Casper for 30 secs. Malachi Pearson did the hard work. When they decided last minute to bring Casper to life he was too young,” he added. “So I landed the role. And I’m very fortunate @BSilberling chose me cause I’d be lying if I said it didn’t start a 30 year job that I love.”

Director Brad Silberling replied to Devon’s tweets about his role, and added that Christina really gave him no choice in casting him. Check out what he wrote below!

Casper isn’t available to stream on Netflix or Hulu, but you can rent from Prime Video, Vudu and other streaming platforms now.

Just recently, Devon opened up about receiving some creepy fan letters at his home.

Devon Sawa Received a Disturbing 'Fan' Letter at His Home

Devon Sawa has revealed the disturbing letter he received from a “fan,” who somehow found his residential address on the internet and contacted him there.

The 41-year-old actor is known for roles in Casper, Now and Then, and Final Destination, and he most recently starred alongside John Travolta in The Fanatic.

The fan referenced Devon‘s work in The Fanatic and said she was upset with the character. She then asked for an autograph and ensured she is “not a stalker.”

“To Devon Sawa, I’m writing to tell you that I did not like your character of Hunter Dunbar in The Fanatic. You were terribly mean to poor ‘Moose’ (John Travolta). You could have became friends with him in the end. You did ‘sick’ things to him and his cries for help were so sad. I’m writing this so that you also know; your address is public info!” the fan wrote.

“I should hope you aren’t your character in real life. That’s why I’m going to request an autographed photo from you. If I don’t hear back from you – then I will know you are the same mean ‘Hunter’ in real [life]. Therefore, do not take this personally. Also – I’m NOT a stalker. Never been to your fancy, rich enclave. Probably never will. I will appreciate your utmost concern and cooperation as I look forward to hearing from you,” the fan concluded.

Devon shared a photo of the letter on Twitter and said, “Not okay.” He later added, “Dear Dev, I wrote you but you still ain’t calling….”

If you didn’t know, The Fanatic is about a man with autism, played by Travolta, who is a huge fan of a movie star, played by Sawa. The fan tries to get an autograph and is rejected by the actor.
