“After Amie’s murder, I took a week off. Really, I couldn’t function and my first day back we taped the high school show for ‘Kids Week.’ It was the first show back and everybody knew what happened to me. And so, I took time during the break to talk to these kids. And I really wanted to do it because it was high school kids and I talked to them about how I forgave the guy who murdered Amie,” Drew said on The Talk on Friday (April 17). “He was mentally ill. He was abused as a kid. You have to be able to forgive people like that. I wish he never did it. I wish he never met her.”

He added, “I really try to practice instant forgiveness and unconditional love. The closest you can get to that the better you are.”

“Back in September 2018, I was in a beautiful, great, best relationship of my life with a woman named Amie Harwick. She was a sex therapist and mental health advocate. She had a PhD and a master’s degree, and she was beautiful and fun, and cared deeply about people and improving their lives and was just a joy to be around. I was so in love with her,” he explained, going on to say that he played a set of music for her that he later played for his audience.

“I just want to say, I’m so broken up. Even after we broke up, we still loved each other very much. Even though we broke up the engagement, I was still so in love with her. And she loved me back. I could never hear these songs again without thinking of her so this next set is for Amie Harwick, a beautiful person who didn’t deserve to die like she did. I loved her very much,” he said while crying.

“I might take a couple weeks off because I’m in really no position to work or entertain anybody right now but I wanted to get this set out there for her and just put it out there how I loved her,” he went on to say.

The songs included Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons’ “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and Three Dog Night’s “Old Fashioned Love Song.”

If you didn’t know, Amie‘s cause of death was just officially confirmed.

The talk show host was discussing the death of Drew Carey‘s ex-fiancee Amie Harwick on Monday (February 17) when she made a tasteless joke that involved his show The Price is Right.

Amie died over the weekend after falling from a balcony after allegedly being attacked by her ex-boyfriend. Wendy noted to the audience that Amie was “killed not by Drew.”

She then paused her commentary and shouted out the famous Price is Right line, “Come on down!” Wendy then looked up and tilted her head down as if she was watching someone fall down, seemingly referencing Amie‘s fall from the balcony.

The audience inside Wendy‘s studio was clearly not amused by the joke and fans on social media have also spoken out against her.
