So many famous faces in Hollywood can trace their family’s roots back to Ireland.

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day 2024, we rounded up 30 stars with Irish heritage. We’re pretty sure that you’ll already know about at least half of the people’s connection to Ireland.

One of them even joked that they were not Irish enough, despite having a DNA test confirm that they were more than 98% from the country. Others have been recognized at awards shows honoring their heritage or have starred in prominent Irish roles.

One even made history at the Oscars as the first Irish-born star to win Best Actor!

However, some of the celebrities on the list might surprise you. We say that because some of the celebrities themselves were even shocked to learn that they had family in Ireland in the past.

Jamie Dornan has not one but two exciting roles to look forward to in a new Netflix series.

After sharing the screen with Gal Gadot in the streamer’s Heart of Stone, the 41-year-old actor has been cast to play identical twins Adam and Lee in the forthcoming drama The Undertow.

His involvement was confirmed during a Next on Netflix event in London, England on Thursday (March 14). Additional details have been confirmed, too!

As he began eating the increasingly spicy wings, Jamie spoke about his show The Tourist, real-life scares on movie sets, believing in himself, and the movie “everyone hated.”

Jamie Dornan is sharing the story behind what happened when Eddie Redmayne‘s email got hacked.

The award-winning actors have been friends for years and grew up in Hollywood together alongside some other famous actors.

While appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Jamie talked about Eddie‘s email getting hacked and a Hollywood legend falling for the scam.

“Eddie [Redmayne] got scammed on his email. We all got emails saying, like, ‘Guys, I’m up against it here. I need some cash,’” Jamie said.

Inspired by E.L. James‘ novels of the same name, the Fifty Shades of Grey film franchise caused some controversy with their steamy storylines.

Centered around the dramatic romance between Dakota Johnson‘s Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan‘s Christian Grey, the series kicked off in 2015 and concluded three years later with Fifty Shades Freed.

They remain some of the top-grossing R-rated movies of all time, and they feature an appropriately talented (and wealthy) cast of actors.

The Tourist is back!

Season 2 of the hit Netflix drama series premieres on Thursday, February 29.

In Season 2, Elliot and his now-girlfriend Helen travel to Ireland in search of answers about Elliot’s identity, but instead, they’re forced to face the dangerous consequences of his past actions.

Netflix has also revealed the cast of the second season, as well as the season trailer!

Jamie Dornan is speaking out about being “ridiculed” for his work in Fifty Shades of Grey.

The 41-year-old actor starred in the 2015 film, as well as the 2 sequel movies, and while they were commercial successes, many reviews panned the film.

“I think I hid. I am coming off the back of career altering reviews for The Fall to just ridicule, almost,” Jamie said during an interview on BBC’s Desert Island Discs. The Fall was Jamie‘s BBC series where he portrayed a serial killer. It ran from 2013-2016, though he did not appear in later episodes.
