Keyshia Cole‘s mother, Frankie Lons, has sadly passed away at the age of 61.

TMZ reports that Frankie died after her years-long battle with addiction while celebrating her birthday.

The site says that Frankie “overdosed at her Oakland home Sunday … the same day she was celebrating her born day, when she apparently took drugs while partying — relapsing on what we’re told was a long, hard-fought journey to sobriety.”

Sam, Keyshia‘s brother, added that the family “wants the world to remember Frankie as someone who loved her kids, and who wanted her children to be together … despite their turbulent history.”

Frankie appeared many times on Keyshia‘s reality TV shows and went on to star in her own spin-off, Frankie & Neffe, which focused on her and Keyshia‘s sister Neffeteria Pugh.

Earlier this year, Keyshia was set for a Versuz battle with Ashanti. Here’s the status of it right now…

The much-anticipated Verzuz showdown between Ashanti and Keyshia Cole is being pushed back again.

After the musical battle was pushed back once already after Ashanti revealed she tested positive for coronavirus back in December, the show’s organizers confirmed that it was once again being pushed back.

“This has been an emotional week. In addition, as COVID-19 numbers continue to increase, safety is a top priority for us. As much as we enjoy having everyone together in the same room, to protect the artists and everyone who works with us in putting the shows together, we’re going back to separate locations for a bit. We’re excited for the next few events, and look forward to getting back to the show in the coming weeks,” they announced on Friday (January 8).

There was another Verzuz battle over the summer that generated SO much buzz and lots of social media chatter.

Sad news for any fans who were looking forward to the Verzuz battle between Ashanti and Keyshia Cole – the event has been postponed indefinitely.

The battle was canceled just two hours before the event was set to begin, though there’s a chance it may still happen in a different way.

Kehlani is back with a musical gift!

The 24-year-old hit-maker teamed up with Keyshia Cole for a brand new collaboration called, “All Me,” as a treat for fans.

“I’ve never had a song hype like this before it dropped. I’ve never had this much energy for a musical release! This is so incredible,” Kehlani tweeted about the song. “I just wanna say thank you, this is some really epic shit.”

“And this was accidental. This wasn’t my planned single, this isn’t a part of the roll out for my album…,” Kehlani continued. “I put a snippet up & y’all made it viral. I’m putting it out because of y’all. thank you!!”

Issa Rae, MJ Rodriguez and H.E.R. strike a pose on the green carpet while attending the 2019 Soul Train Awards held at the Orleans Arena on Sunday (November 17) in Las Vegas.

The three ladies were joined at the event by musicians Keyshia Cole, JoJo, Letoya Luckett, Tank and Jeremih, as well as actors Luke James and Skai Jackson and hostesses Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold.

The 2019 Soul Train Awards were hosted by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold who opened the show with a rocking opening spectacle, which included a vogue performance from MJ Rodriguez – Check out the performance here!

Lizzo, who was not in attendance, took home the top prize in two categories at the 2019 BET Soul Train Awards: Video of the Year for her “Juice” music video, and Album/Mixtape of the Year for her album Cuz I Love You.

Keyshia Cole is pregnant!

The 36-year-old singer is expecting her second child, she announced on her Instagram account on Thursday (July 5).

Keyshia revealed the news by posting a photo of herself in her Fashion Nova clothing and she added the caption “preggo in my Fashion Nova fit” in hashtag format. She added, “Congradulations [sic] are in order.”

The father of Keyshia‘s baby has not been revealed, but she has been dating 22-year-old rapper Niko Khale and they celebrated the Fourth of July together. See the pic on his Instagram account.

UPDATE: Keyshia took to social media to say that she’s not actually pregnant.

Julia Michaels keeps it cute as she hits the red carpet at the Republic Records 2017 MTV VMAs After Party hosted by Cadillac on Sunday evening (August 27) at Tao Restaurant in Los Angeles.

The 23-year-old hit-making singer and songwriter was joined at the bash by Jessie J, Chord Overstreet, Pete Wentz, Heidi Klum, Mel B, Tove Lo, Grace Mitchell, Marc E.
