Luke Perry Left Out of Oscars In Memorium & Fans Are Not Happy

Luke Perry was left out of the In Memorium feature during the 2020 Academy Awards.

The late actor, who passed away in March last year at only 52, was skipped in the feature, which honors entertainers who made a contribution to the arts.

Kobe Bryant, Kirk Douglas, Diahann Carroll, Danny Aiello, and many others were highlighted and fans aren’t happy about Luke being omitted, considering he was in Once Upon A Time…in Hollywood, which was nominated for Best Picture at the event.

“Luke Perry’s last movie was Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The man was more talented than most current actors’ left pinky. Can’t throw his photo up for .4 seconds at the Oscars? That’s some bulls***,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

Another added, “Luke Perry was in an Oscar nominated movie this year this omission is insane.”

“luke perry walked so literally every young adult heart throb has a chance to even set a foot out,” one commented.

“Once Upon Time in Hollywood was nominated for 8.2 million awards, so someone explain to me why Luke Perry wasn’t in In Memoriam?” another exclaimed.

'Riverdale' Cast Shares Luke Perry Tributes Ahead of Season 4 Premiere

The cast of Riverdale is honoring Luke Perry ahead of tonight’s season four premiere.

The episode will pay tribute to the late actor, who sadly passed away in March at age 52 due to a massive stroke.

Luke played Fred Andrews on the CW series, and his co-stars have taken to social media to celebrate his memory.

“Tonight’s episode, and all episodes for the rest of our run, are for Luke,” Lili Reinhart wrote. “We love, honor, and cherish his memory every single day. I only wish he were here to see how many lives he touched with happiness and laughter. I know he’s watching from above. We love you, Luke.” She also shared her favorite photo of Luke, snapped by their co-star Cole Sprouse.

Skeet Ulrich shared a picture of Luke’s favorite hat, which he left at Skeet’s house before he died. “Luke, you left WAY more than a hat! We miss you and keep you in our hearts every single day,” Skeet wrote. “Thank you for all you gave the world, tonight is for you.”

Madelaine Petsch posted a photo of herself and Luke Perry at her first upfronts for the show, explaining, “Luke walked me through the entire experience as he did with most of the new experiences I encountered after booking this show. I didn’t even know this photo existed but it explains our relationship to a T. He was always so generous and supportive and patient with my learning and growing through some of the most formative years of my life. I am so lucky to have known you Luke. You were one of a kind and impacted everyone’s lives in such a meaningful way.”

Camila Mendes added in her Instagram Stories, “I’m finding it hard to express how I’m feeling but I’ll try. We put everything we have into this episode. We wanted to honor Luke’s memory in the most sincere and respectful way possible. This episode is as hard to watch as it was to make it. Actually, making it was harder. But the result is a beautiful tribute to our friend. Luke deserves that and so much more.”

“Tonight Season 4 of Riverdale premieres,” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared. “With an episode that honors our friend Luke. (I love this picture of him with the boys.) It’s an episode that’s bursting with sadness, but even more so with love. I’m humbled by the outstanding, heroic work everyone did on it. I hope you like it, Luke. As Archie says about his dad, ‘You will always be a part of Riverdale.’ 👨🏻‍💻❤️🏠👨‍👦⭐️💎”

The Riverdale season premiere airs at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

Shannen Doherty Reveals How Luke Perry Encouraged Her to Join 'BH90210'

Shannen Doherty had a special reason she decided to sign on for BH90210.

The 48-year-old actress recently revealed that she joined the Beverly Hills 90292 reunion series to honor the late Luke Perry.

“I wasn’t attached [before Luke’s death]…and it wasn’t long after he passed that I finally was like, ‘OK, yes,’” Shannen told ET.

She continued, “For me, I felt like it was honoring him and his memory and what he meant to the audience and the fans and to all of us. As his on-set family, I felt like it was an important time for all of us to come together to honor him.”

Shannen added that the series will definitely address Luke‘s absence, saying, “The first episode very much deals with it. Luke was such a sort of quiet, subtle, yet dynamic human being that he had a very strong and lasting impact on people. So, naturally, we would have to deal with it.”

Shannen is also set to honor Luke in upcoming episodes of Riverdale. Get the details.
