Ndileka Mandela, the granddaughter of Nelson Mandela, is speaking out with new comments about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently released their new Netflix series Live to Lead, which they say was inspired by the legacy of Mandela.

In a conversation with The Australian, Ndileka said that the couple is “using” her grandfather’s legacy and called it “upsetting and tedious.”

“I don’t believe [Harry] nor Meghan have ever properly met granddad, maybe when Harry was young at Buckingham Palace. But they are using his quotations in the documentary to draw in people and make millions without the Mandela family benefiting,” she added.

At the event, Meghan said one of the actors in the film, a South African artist, approached her and said, “I just need you to know: When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison.”

The Cut article did add, “Of course, she knows she’s no Mandela, but perhaps even telling me this story is a mode of defense, because if you are a symbol for all that is good and charitable, how can anybody find you objectionable, how can anybody hate you?”
