Orlando Jones Joins Gabrielle Union's Show After They Bonded Over Fremantle Drama

Orlando Jones has joined the cast of L.A.’s Finest season two!

The 51-year-old actor joins Gabrielle Union in the show, just one month after they bonded over being let go from shows produced by FremantleMedia.

Gabrielle was fired from America’s Got Talent after she spoke up about the “toxic culture” behind the scenes at the show. Orlando was let go from American Gods after his character’s storyline had ended.

After Orlando tweeted about being fired, Gabrielle responded and told him they should chat.

Deadline reports that Orlando “will play Marshawn Davis, a veteran of the LAPD’s Internal Affairs Division who is brought in to question Syd Burnett (Union) after an investigation turns deadly. Equal parts integrity and determination, Davis quickly suspects Syd and the truth have a complicated relationship which puts her squarely in his crosshairs.”

FremantleMedia Being Investigated After Gabrielle Union's 'AGT' Firing & Orlando Jones 'American Gods' Firing

SAG-AFTRA is expanding its investigation into FremantleMedia following Orlando Jones‘ firing from Starz’ American Gods.

If you didn’t know, the union was already probing FremantleMedia following the firing of Gabrielle Union from America’s Got Talent.

Orlando suggested that the firing was racially charged, which came after Gabrielle spoke out about the alleged “toxic” workplace culture at AGT.

“After initial meetings with Gabrielle Union and her representatives about her experiences on America’s Got Talent, and after learning more about Orlando Jones’s experience on American Gods, SAG-AFTRA is expanding its investigation of Fremantle Media. Our enforcement actions are handled confidentially to protect the members involved, and we typically do not publicize these matters unless the affected members request that we do so. We have nothing further to report at this time,” they said in a statement on Friday (December 20).

SAG-AFTRA is the largest union for talent, representing over 160,000 actors, journalists, radio personalities, singers and media professionals.

Gabrielle Union Wants to Chat with Orlando Jones After He Says FremantleMedia Fired Him Too

Orlando Jones says he was fired from the Starz series American Gods, which is produced by FremantleMedia, the same production company behind America’s Got Talent.

The actor alleged that the show’s new showrunner Charles Eglee decided that his character Anansi (aka Mr. Nancy) was sending “the wrong message for black America.”

“There will be no more Mr. Nancy. Don’t let these motherf–kers tell you they love Mr. Nancy. They don’t. I’m not going to name names but the new season 3 showrunner is Connecticut born and Yale-educated, so he’s very smart and he thinks that Mr. Nancy’s angry, get sh– done is the wrong message for black America,” Orlando said in a video on Twitter. “That’s right. This white man sits in that decision-making chair and I’m sure he has many black BFFs who are his advisors and made it clear to him that if he did not get rid of that angry god Mr. Nancy he’d start a Denmark Vesey uprising in this country. I mean, what else could it be?”

Orlando added in a tweet, “I was fired Sept 10, 2019 like @itsgabrielleu @OfficialMelB @NickCannon @heidiklum all have said @FremantleUS is a nightmare. They treated you like a 2nd class citizen for doing your job to well. Stay tuned. More to come.”

Gabrielle Union, who was fired from America’s Got Talent, responded to the tweet and said, “Ohhhhhhhhhhh 👀🤔🤨 let’s chat my friend. #StrongerTogether.”
