The Pioneer Woman‘s Ree Drummond‘s husband and nephew were involved in a collision near the family’s farm in Osage County, Oklahoma.
Ladd and Caleb Drummond were involved in the crash around 1:43pm on Wednesday (March 10) about eight miles west of Pawhuska, People reports.
While they were both driving fire trucks, Caleb, 21, was driving his truck southbound down County Road N3660 while Ladd, 57, was driving northbound. It was reported the trucks hit one another “head-on” due to “high winds on a gravel road” that caused visibility to be decreased.
Neither Ladd or Caleb were wearing their seatbelts, and Caleb “was ejected approximately 70 feet from point of rest.”
Caleb was then rushed to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, where he was admitted in critical condition with head, arm, leg and internal injuries, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.
Ladd reportedly “refused treatment at the scene.”
Caleb and Ladd were responding to one of the many fires that been burning through thousands of acres of land throughout Oklahoma. The flames were reportedly nearing the Drummond farm.
Our thoughts are with the Drummond family at this time.
