Rocker Melissa Etheridge and her partner of nearly nine years, Tammy Etheridge, have split up.
“Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are saddened to announce that they are now separated,” Melissa‘s rep told People.
“We ask for consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period,” the two added.
Melissa and Tammy exchanged formal vows in a Malibu ceremony in 2003. The two are the parents of three-year-old twins from an anonymous sperm donor; Tammy also supported Melissa through a battle with breast cancer starting in 2004.
