Third Eye Blind Launches Nail Polish Line, Benefitting LGBTQIA+ Charity

Third Eye Blind rocks out the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Tuesday (January 25), celebrating the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut.

The American rock band, in collaboration with Smith & Cult, is also launching a special cruelty-free nail polish line inspired by songs from the album. The colors – “Jumper,” “London,” “God of Wine,” “Semi-Charmed,” and “The Background.” – are available at SmithAndCult.com.

A portion of the proceeds from the “Jumper” nail polish color will benefit Cyndi Lauper’s non-profit, True Colors United, which helps to combat homelessness in LGBTQ youth.

“Their mission goes to the core of ‘Jumper’s’ simple message,” says lead singer Stephan Jenkins. “That no one should be stigmatized for who they are. We have more understanding to give than we sometimes show.”

”I think I’m most struck by our state of vibrancy,” added Stephan. “Twenty-five years down, and all of us are focused and excited on what comes next. Still, these shows give me an opportunity to make a set list that takes stock of the road so far. It excites me to play a few shows at these intimate venues where I know so many of the fans by name, and I know that everyone will be tucked into every moment together.”

Third Eye Blind's Stephan Jenkins Responds to RNC Trolling: 'They Are a Party Dedicated to Exclusion'

Third Eye Blind singer Stephan Jenkins is setting the record straight about his trolling of the Republican National Convention, which went viral earlier in the week.

The band was in town in Cleveland playing a show, coincidentally at the exact same time that thousands flocked to the city for the convention.

“I just went – let me make this clear,” Stephan told Rolling Stone, “We are in direct opposition to everything the Republican Party stands for.”

At the show, Third Eye Blind played “Jumper,” which is about the suicide of Stephan’s homosexual cousin.

“To engage with that song means that you are participating in the belief system that all people are equal and deserving of dignity and protection, which is not what the Republican platform is,” Stephan continued. “They think my gay cousin should be in conversion therapy.”

“The Republican party is on the wrong side of Lilly Ledbetter, fiscal responsibility, unions, civil rights, climate change, evolution, the Big Bang theory, stem cells, Medicare, and me,” Stephan added. “They are in fact a party dedicated to exclusion…The fact that I’m onstage 19 years after I wrote ["Jumper"] and we’re still talking about equal dignity for the LGBTQ community is absurd…And to yell ‘Who believes in science?’ and have half the room boo is [laughs] … their ideology is crumbling.”

Third Eye Blind: 'If There Ever Was A Time' First Listen!

Check out Third Eye Blind‘s new song “If There Ever Was A Time,” which lead singer Stephan Jenkins wrote in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement!

“Oh where are the youth, we need you now. Come speak the truth, come break it down,” the band sings on the track.

“I think college students are going to come to terms with the unfairness of student loans, the hallowing out of jobs from finance-based capitalism, and the depletion of public wealth,” Stephan said in a press release.

“When you take money out of politics, which is what Occupy Wall Street is about for me, you reverse these trends,” he added. “This song is meant to encourage their participation. I hope we flood this movement with music.”

You can download the song for free on Third Eye Blind‘s Facebook page and 3EB.com – the band just asks if you like the track to donate to Occupy99!
