Aretha Franklin takes the stage and totally belts out Adele‘s “Rolling in the Deep” on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday evening (September 29) in New York City.

The legendary singer went on the program to promote her new album Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics and Adele‘s hit song is her first single off of the new compilation!

Aretha Franklin and Willie Wilkerson have called off their wedding.

The 69-year-old soul singer and her “forever friend” announced their engagement in early January and planned to marry in June or July.

“Regretfully, To Our Friends and Supporters: Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly,” Aretha and Willie said in a statement (via People). “There will be no wedding at this time.”

“We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends,” the statement continued.

Aretha Franklin is set to tie the knot!

The 69-year-old soul legend and her “forever friend,” Willie Wilkerson, are engaged, a rep for the singer tells People.

“Ms. Franklin is considering Donna Karan, Valentino and the queen of wedding dresses, Vera Wang, to design her gown,” her rep said.

“We’re looking at June or July for our date and no, I’m not pregnant, LOL!” Aretha added.

Aretha was previously married to businessman and music manager Ted White from 1961 until 1969 and was married to actor Glynn Turman from 1978 until 1984.
