Janet Jackson called police to do a welfare check on one-year-old Eissa Al Mana on Saturday (June 2), police confirmed on Sunday (June 3) to People.

The 52-year-old “Control” pop icon placed the call around 10 p.m. PST while Eissa was staying with his father, Janet‘s ex Wissam Al Mana, at a hotel in Malibu, Calif.

“Deputies were there [and] called to the scene. They decided the child was okay and they left,” a spokesperson from the police department confirmed to People.

Brother Randy Jackson told Entertainment Tonight that Janet grew concerned after their nanny became “terrified” by Wissan‘s behavior and “locked herself in a bathroom, so she could contact Janet.”

Janet Jackson‘s brother is making some really unsettling claims about her marriage to Wissam Al Mana, which ended earlier this year after she gave birth to their son Eissa back in January.

“It was quite an abusive situation. It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [made to feel like] a prisoner in her own home. No pregnant woman needs to go through being called a bitch every day. There were things like that. That’s what she went through.” Janet‘s brother Randy Jackson told People.

Janet confirmed the split back in April, and the two have been involved in a legal battle since.

“There’s a lot of pain. Janet’s been through a lot with her divorce. I’ve been through a lot, we all have,” Randy continued, adding that the abuse was not physical.

“I told her, ‘You’ve got to move in with me or I’m going to go over there and there’s going to be hell.’ She was really pissed off. I told her, ‘I don’t care anymore. I’m tired of it. It’s too much,’” he continued. “I have a lot of Muslim friends and they don’t act that way at all. It’s a personal issue that he needs help with and I’m going to pray for him, too. But I’m not going to allow her to live in that abusive situation. She’s my baby sister….The abuse is still going on. She has custody and he of course allowed her to bring the baby on tour, but it’s constant harassment. This tour almost didn’t happen, but by the grace of God we’re here and we’re very prayerful.”

There seems to be no bad blood between Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana.

After it was announced earlier this month that the 50-year-old entertainer and her 42-year-old business magnate had split, it has been reported that the two are remaining civil as they raise their three-month-old son Eissa.

“Janet really trusts Wissam and he trusts her,” a source told People magazine. “She and Wissam are working together to co-parent. They have a strong friendship. There is no fighting between them.”

Janet and Wissam married back in 2012 before welcoming their son this past January, as the family has been enjoying a quiet life in London.

The mag is also reporting that Janet‘s family and friends “like Wissam and see that he is a great father.”

“Janet is doing really well,” the mag reports. “She is just so happy to have her baby.”

Wissam Al Mana has broken his silence following his split from Janet Jackson one week ago.

The 42-year-old business magnate and the 50-year-old singer called it quits just three months after welcoming baby boy Eissa into the world.

Now, Wissam has taken to his personal website to pen his ex a note titled “Love,” featuring a black-and-white photo of Janet.

“To the most beautiful person in the world, thank you for your divine love, your eternal support and for being my best friend,” he wrote. “I love you so much, inshallah we will be together in the Great Forever x.”

A few days ago, Wissam also posted a passage from the Quran on the same site, which many people thought might be a cryptic message for Janet.

Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana reportedly called it quits last weekend, after five years of marriage and just months after welcoming baby boy Eissa into the world.

While neither the 50-year-old singer nor the 42-year-old business magnate have spoken out about the divorce, Wissam has now updated his website, WissamAlMana.com, to reflect some of his personal beliefs.

Specifically, he shared this passage from the Quran: “You shall most certainly be tried in your possessions and in your persons; and indeed you shall hear many hurtful things from those to whom revelation was granted before your time, as well as from those who have come to ascribe divinity to other beings beside Allah. But if you remain patient in adversity and conscious of Him – this, behold, is something to set one’s heart upon. – 3:186​.”

A source told People, “The cultural differences between [Janet] and Wissam became even more obvious [after Eissa arrived]. They come from very different worlds.”

If you didn’t know, Janet was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, though she no longer identifies as one, and Wissam is Muslim.
