Robert Durst Dead - Convicted Murderer & 'The Jinx' Subject Dies at 78

Robert Durst, a convicted murderer and subject of the hit HBO docu-series The Jinx, has died while incarcerated on Monday (January 10) in Stockton, Calif.

Durst‘s death at the age of 78 was confirmed by his lawyer in the New York Times. He died at the San Joaquin General Hospital and had been ill since contracting COVID-19 in October 2020.

He was sentenced to life in prison in October of 2021 for the murder of his friend, Susan Berman. Many believed he also killed his first wife, Kathleen McCormack Durst, who disappeared in the early 1980s. During The Jinx, he appeared to confess during an interview when he thought his microphone was off, saying, “I killed them all, of course.” It is believed that Durst killed Susan over what she may have learned about the disappearance of his first wife.
